Upgrade your operating system

(Either drop your computer off to us in New Milton

or we can work on it remotely over the Internet)

The Operating System (OS) is software that allows all your other programmes to run.  It’s the software which displays text and graphics on your screen.  It allows you to move the pointer around the screen and click on things to select them, etc.

The current operating system version is macOS 10.15.  Unless you have a good reason NOT to be running the latest version, you should always do so, as new operating systems are available, programmes start to make use of new features incorporated in the OS.

So what happens if you don’t upgrade?  Well, over time you will start to find that your favourite programmes, which are constantly being updated themselves, no longer work on your Mac computer.  Google Chrome, for example, no longer runs properly or updates itself on version 10.6.

We can check your machine version and let you know the latest version of the OS that will run on it, and then upgrade your system for you.
